3) Where do you live? I go to school in Philly but am home for the summer
4) Why do you want to lose weight? For me, the journey is more based on being healthy.  I seem to get on a healthy kick, but then cave into my cravings and go way overboard.  I just want to adopt a healthier lifestyle and be able to balance treating myself and staying on track.
5) What are your weight loss goals? Currently I'm around 120 lbs (and about 5'0'').  I have a small figure, and while I am at a healthy weight, I feel that a better weight for me is somewhere around 110 lbs.
6) What is your favorite healthy food? I absolutely love grilled veggies.
7) Why did you join this community? I want a support group of people who do want to work toward a healthy goal.  With all of the hype of unhealthy dieting and rise of disordered eating, it's hard to find people who actually want to work toward a healthy goal.  I hope to find support and friendship in this group.
8) Are you trying any diets? If so, which one(s)? I'm not trying any diets.
9) If you could describe yourself in 1 word, what would that word be? Optimistic

I promised a while ago...

To post my progress. Well As of today I have lost 5lbs. Leaving me 25lbs to go. So I'm doing average I would say. I think I need to up my work out a bit. As in doing it mor often. ^^;; I've been slacking off a bit.

Well I so hope everyone else is doing well.

Touching base...

I hope everyone is well! I'm just touching base. Kind of dissapointed in myself this week. I think I had mcdonald's twice (because work didn't leave dinner like they're supposed to) and my bf and I went to Perkins for breakfast. I don't feel so bad about the perkins because I walked a lot afterwards and on top of that I didn't eat that much that day to begin with. Trying to keep up my walking, but with my heels acting up lately, its been hard and litteraly painful. I would let you all know my weight but my sister is the keeper of the scale and she is currently sleeping. ^_^;; So I'll let you know how that is in the morning after I get off of work.

Hey all..I stumbled across this community, read through and liked what I saw so I thought I'd join. *Waves*

1) What's your name? Shuntae

2) How old are you? 26...27 in one month

3) Where do you live? Baltimore, MD

4) Why do you want to lose weight? I'd gained about 80 pounds over the course of my time in college, and have lost 60 of them in the 6 years since I graduated. Major improvement in my overall health and confidence...but I'd really like to get rid of that stubborn last 20.

5) What are your weight loss goals? I'm currently at 188 (as of Curves weigh in yesterday)...my goal is 170.

6) What is your favorite healthy food? Fruit!

7) Why did you join this community? I like the accountability, and everyone seems very supportive. The journey is never easy, but it definitely helps to have a community of people who can relate...and give that kick in the rear when it's needed. ;)


8) Are you trying any diets? If so, which one(s)? Just adding more fruits and veggies with less processed foods


9) If you could describe yourself in 1 word, what would that word be? Cheerful


10) Finally, what is your favorite color and flower? Favorite colors are pink and black, and I love sunflowers

fighting the cravings...

I am, what I like to call, a "bored muncher." Meaning, I get bored and because I have nothing else to do I magicaly become hungry and snack. Problem is, its never just a "snack." Or what some would consider a snack. It ends up being a bowl of ramen, or a sandwhich or looking down ad realizing I just ate a plate of nachos. (ok so 95% of the time its ramen) The point of this is I'm doing my best to fight these cravings by keeping myself busy. I have the hobby of knitting. So I am doing my best to knit my little heart out. I figure with as often as I get bored I should have the scarf I've been working on, and ignoring for the past year or so, finished by next month. (Or at least I can hope.) So one more thing to try and help myself. And yes I do realize sometimes the snaishness is not just boredom but real and if the hunger persists I have single serving packs of carrots now! Weeeee ^_^

4) Why do you want to lose weight?: My father found out he has diabetis 6mo. ago, making the third genration in a row on his mother's side to contract it meaning in my family it doesn't skip. Weight loss is one way of fighting off an earlier on set of diabetis, not to mention fight several over things that run in my family concearning the blood and heart. So for health reasons.

5) What are your weight loss goals?: If you ask the weight chart people I need to loose about 200lbs. However that is a very large number, and while possibly obtainable with time I choose to put a current goal at 30lbs. And we'll work from there.

6) What is your favorite healthy food?: Oooh hmmm cucumbers, or carrots.

7) Why did you join this community?: it seemed like a place where everyone would be nice and supportive and motivating.

8) Are you trying any diets? If so, which one(s)?: I've tried a lot of diets, but this time I'm just going the smarter portions and balanced meals route.

9) If you could describe yourself in 1 word, what would that word be?: I honestly don't know. There are so many words that come to mind that don't in themselves describe me in total. So I suppose if I HAVE to choose one word, I choose my name, Bess. Because that is only that I have found that truly describes me. I'm just Bess.

10) Finally, what is your favorite color and flower?: Deep DARk red, and thistles!

4) Why do you want to lose weight? Certainly to better my health, but also because I am in a wedding this coming October and would like to slim down a bit.
5) What are your weight loss goals? I'd like to lose 20-30 lbs. by October. Long term, I want to lose about 60 lbs. I am not very concerned with specifics, though...as long as I feel and look better, and know that I'm on my way.
6) What is your favorite healthy food? Spinach and other similar leafy greens, strawberries
7) Why did you join this community? I joined this community because I am really looking for a group of people who will support me and keep me motivated. I do not want to be anonymous, and I do not want to be unnecessarily or cruelly criticized.

Hi y'all. I just found this community and joined it. Here's my intro questionnaire:

3) Where do you live? - Nebraska
4) Why do you want to lose weight? - I have PCOS and am trying to conceive. Losing weight will not only make me healthier and help control the PCOS, it will help me in trying to get pregnant.
5) What are your weight loss goals? - In the long run, I'd like to lose about 100 lbs. For right now, I'm taking small steps and am starting with 20lbs in the next 3 months. I'm having a tough time with it as I can't seem to find a scale that's consistent but I am tracking how many inches I'm losing and just weighing when I go to the dr.
6) What is your favorite healthy food? - FRUIT!
7) Why did you join this community? - I was looking for a place where people were friendly and understanding of the constant struggle with weight loss.
